Care home pest control
In care environments, cleanliness and safety are non-negotiable. At ThermoPest, we provide discreet and compliant pest control services for care homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities across the UK.
Our experienced team understands the unique sensitivities of working in healthcare settings — especially those involving vulnerable residents — and we ensure every service is delivered with the utmost professionalism, care, and confidentiality.
Care staff are often first to notice bed bugs, especially when residents can’t report bites themselves. Our free bed bug awareness course shows them what to look for and how to report it.

ThermoPest is based in London, where most of our work is, and we take on care home work across the UK. We regularly work in Surrey, Oxfordshire, Bristol, Bath and the South West.
ThermoPest plans the work room by room with your manager. Residents move to a room that doesn’t adjoin the treated one, and can usually return 2 hours after treatment unless the technician advises otherwise. Most treatments are completed within a day.
Yes, when it’s planned around residents’ care. Residents are never in a room while it is being heated, and we agree with your manager where each resident goes, including anyone with mobility, dementia or medical needs. Treatment is heat-led, so very little product is used, and any targeted spray goes only into cracks and seams, away from where residents sit and sleep. The technician checks the room has cooled before anyone returns. We tell you in advance about any items to remove, such as medicines, continence products and heat-sensitive equipment.
Every visit ends with a written report with photos, recording what we found, what we treated and any follow-up. Keep it with your infection control and maintenance records.
CQC’s fundamental standards include keeping premises clean and suitable (Regulation 15) and providing safe care (Regulation 12). Acting quickly, treating properly and keeping records of what was done supports both. This is general information, not legal advice.
Yes. Check the rooms either side, above and below, plus shared lounges and laundry. Our free bed bug awareness training shows care staff what to look for and how to report it the same day.
Priority response options are agreed with each care home or group as part of the contract. Call 0808 189 2310 to discuss what you need.
