How it works
Bed bugs and their eggs die when held above about 50°C for long enough. We heat rooms to 50–60°C and hold that heat until the hardest-to-reach spots stay above 50°C. Our technicians place temperature probes where bed bugs hide, such as mattress seams, bed frames, skirting boards and sofa joints, and watch the readings live so no room is left short.
A typical Bradford job might be a stone-built terrace in Great Horton let to students, with bedrooms on two floors and a converted attic room. Older stone houses can have cool corners, cellars and draughty attic spaces, so we plan the heat room by room and give tenants and landlords clear preparation advice beforehand.
Most treatments are completed within a day, and you can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Qualifying treatments are covered by our 12-week guarantee. See how our heat treatment works

Local insight
Much of Bradford’s housing is older stone-built property: long rows of Victorian terraces, larger villas and family homes in areas such as Manningham, and mill-era housing in Shipley and around Saltaire. Terraces share party walls, and many older houses have cellars, attics and gaps around floorboards and skirting, which give bed bugs plenty of places to hide and routes between rooms.
Bradford also has a large rented sector. Students at the University of Bradford often live in shared houses around Great Horton and the city centre, and tenancies change each year, so beds, sofas and luggage move in and out regularly. Second-hand furniture is another common way bed bugs arrive in a new home.
Visitors and commuters pass through Bradford Interchange and Forster Square stations every day, and trains link the city with Shipley, Keighley and the wider Aire Valley. Bed bugs travel in bags and coats, so they can turn up in any home. If you notice bites, blood spots on bedding or dark marks on mattress seams, act early: a small problem is easier to treat.

Pricing
Whole-property bed bug heat treatment in Bradford starts from £895. The final price depends on the size and layout of the property, how far the infestation has spread and how much preparation is needed. A large Victorian family home in Manningham or a rented house with several let rooms takes more equipment and time than a small flat, and terraced streets with tight parking can affect how we set up on the day. Because we travel out from London, we plan Bradford and Keighley jobs carefully so the visit runs smoothly.
We confirm the price after a survey or a detailed conversation about the property, so landlords and tenants know what is included before we start. Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. See our bed bug treatment prices for what is included and the full guarantee terms.
Reviews
I honestly couldn’t recommend ThermoPest Bed Bug Treatments London more highly. When we first discovered we had bed bugs, we used a different company who failed to get rid of them and left us feeling really anxious that the problem was going to be hard (and expensive) to solve. They were going to charge almost the same again to come back, so we started looking elsewhere.
I called Gavin at ThermoPest, and right away he reassured me over the phone and gave me loads of helpful advice. He came out the very next day, was calm, kind, and put our minds at ease. What stood out most was how honest he was — it was clear he wasn’t just trying to take our money if it wasn’t necessary.
The bugs are now completely gone, and we were left well informed throughout the process. Best of all — we didn’t have to throw anything away!
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Huge thanks again to Gavin and the team at ThermoPest!

After moving into a new flat in London, I started getting bites. I called ThermoPest, and they were round in no time. Their heat treatment was a game-changer—no chemicals, just pure heat to zap the pests. The lads were proper friendly and made sure I understood the process. Not a single bite since. Highly recommend!

FAQs

Council pest services change over time, and many councils now charge for bed bug treatment or no longer offer it, so it is worth checking Bradford Council’s current service first. Many people choose a private specialist for heat treatment, which reaches adults, nymphs and eggs, with clear preparation and aftercare advice. Our guide to council vs private bed bug treatment explains the differences.
It depends on the tenancy and on how the bed bugs arrived. Landlords have a duty to keep a rented home fit to live in, and tenants should report signs of bed bugs to their landlord or letting agent as soon as they notice them. We work with tenants, landlords and letting agents across Bradford and provide treatment paperwork for both sides.
Yes. We travel out to treat shared houses and student lets around Great Horton, the city centre and nearby streets. In a shared house we usually treat every bedroom and the shared living spaces together, and we give each housemate clear preparation steps before the visit.
Yes. We treat hotels, guest houses and short-term lets, and we arrive in unmarked vans so guests are not alarmed. We plan the heat treatment around the affected rooms and advise on checking neighbouring rooms as well.
Most treatments are completed within a day, depending on the size and layout of the property. You can usually move back in after about 2 hours, unless your technician advises otherwise. Large Victorian family homes and houses with several let rooms can take longer.
Qualifying treatments carry our 12-week guarantee. If live bed bug activity is found within 12 weeks, we return under the guarantee terms. See our pricing and guarantee page for full details.
